Skills self-assessment
Is this you?
This quiz covers the knowledge and reasoning a technician leans on every day: electrical basics, using a meter, reading diagrams, mechanical sense, how appliances work, diagnosis and safety.
Answer honestly, and guess when you are not sure. At the end you will see a score for each area, compared with the level we consider a sound starting point for field work. This is a self-assessment, not a certification.
What your result means
A strong result across every area suggests you already think the way good technicians do. A strong result in most areas, with one or two gaps, usually means those topics are worth studying before you start. Either way, the review at the end explains every answer, so the quiz teaches as well as tests.
